This is a series of
models depicting a Husky MRAP with mounted mine
detecting equipment. One model was produced in
1:10 scale. Three other models, more portable
and easier to transport, were produced in 1:18
scale.
The model was developed in 3D software first and
produced by rapid prototyping. In fact these
models were 100% rapid prototyped, by SLA and
SLS. The chassis, in particular, were designed
with channels to accept metal reinforcement
profiles, otherwise it would be too vulnerable.
As the 1:18 scale models are meant to be
traveling models, they are accompanied by the
custom transit cases.
The models were recognized for accuracy and high
level of detailing. The large model was placed
on permanent display at the client's office and
the 1:18 scale models started their trade show
tour. |
